It's designed with a hinge that allows the damping agent to jump away from the head at impact before returning to muffle sustain. With a low profile, the EQ Pad also allows unrestricted air-flow inside the drum... enhancing volume and low-end. Velcro strips allow easy attachment to any shell or on top of another pad for additional focus.
