Author: Eamonster Savage monitors. These are way better than their rivals; the KRK Rokit 8 g2. The high frequencies are cleaner and more transparant and they're only aggressive sounding if the music being played has been compressed aggressively and/or the high frequencies have been over emphasized. If you listen to old school music like Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin or even Nat King Cole etc, it's as smooth as a baby's back side with plenty of detail and a big 3D soundstage so you can pinpoint the variouis elements in the mix. I compared these to the Adam A8Xs and there was very little difference. In face I think the Yamahas edged it slightly.
